In this APDA webinar, Ethan Wetzell, Platform Strategist for Bosch Communications Systems and Marketing Chair for the OCA Alliance, will discuss the topic of device and system control in wired and wirelessly connected devices - and how it covers a lot more than you might initially think. This presentation will discuss the relationships between technologies, standards, and solutions and how the AES70 control standard and OCA Ecosystem can create robust media networking solutions for connected devices, decrease development time, and offer a more complete product for your customers.

The OCA Alliance trade association was formed to promote the AES70 standard and Open Control Architecture (OCA) ecosystem, as a control solution for professional media networking applications. Following the publication of the latest OCA standard, AES70-2024 with new classes, methods, an updated protocol, and new documentation and product development support materials, the momentum for this new open standard is expanding and motivating adoption in a wide diversity of applications and product segments.

A recent AES70 Product Development Meet-up, jointly promoted by the OCA Alliance and the Audio Product Development Alliance, motivated productive conversations between developers, technology providers, engineering companies, and manufacturers. This networking event took place at the Integrated Systems Europe 2025 trade show in Barcelona, and it was clear how companies from completely different application segments in residential, commercial, and professional AV seem determined to expand connectivity by embracing AES70-based control. This APDA webinar expands on that incredible momentum for AES70 to a wider, global audience.

This webinar is for everyone interested in learning more about how open standards such as AES70 can help get products to market faster and appeal to a wider audience. And understand better how AES70 expands connectivity and moves forward with the future of AoIP networking.

“As media networks expand in relevance and complexity, the ability of AES70 to grow in parallel to offer new components and solutions enhances the value for developers in combining standards and technologies to create holistic solutions," says Ethan Wetzell, Marketing Chair for the OCA Alliance.
