Automotive audio is entering a new era. Once limited to basic playback, the car sound system has become a deeply integrated, intelligent, and immersive experience, shaping everything from music reproduction and hands-free communication to active sound management, safety, personalization, and the very sound signature of the vehicle itself.
Join the Audio Product Development Alliance for a special roundtable on the state of automotive audio, exploring the technologies and disciplines transforming the field: AI and machine learning, system architecture, DSP, sound tuning, active sound design, immersive playback, evaluation methods, and the future of sound in electric, autonomous, and connected vehicles.
For this webinar we will welcome David J Prince, Senior Manager Audio Hardware at Lucid Motors, who will take us inside the development of the Lucid Gravity audio system. Following Lucid’s pioneering integration of Dolby Atmos in the Lucid Air and its acclaimed 21-speaker Surreal Sound system, the new Lucid Gravity pushes high-end automotive audio even further. Dave will share how Lucid approached architecture, tuning, and system quality to create a next-level in-car listening experience, and offer a preview of what may be coming next.

Other topics under discussion (don’t forget to submit your questions during the live session) include the impact of streaming, voice AI, ride-share, autonomy, ownership models, and emerging applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the way we think about sound in and around vehicles and use cases.
David J Prince is an audio innovation leader and acoustical engineer specializing in automotive, consumer electronics, and med-tech applications. As Senior Manager, Audio Hardware at Lucid Motors, he leads next-generation EV audio innovation across system architecture, hardware integration, AI/ML, safety systems, and advanced UI/UX. His prior roles include senior positions at Panduit, Harman International, and Premium Sound Solutions, spanning audio, AV, hearing technology, smart speakers, and automotive sound systems. He holds a BS in Physics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, studied acoustics at Penn State, and serves in leadership roles with the Audio Engineering Society.
The session will also include a preview of the AES 2026 International Conference on Automotive Audio, taking place July 29-31 in Detroit under the theme “Automotive Audio in the AI Era: Sounds of Future Cars.”
Discover how the vehicle is becoming one of the most advanced audio platforms of the future.
